Homework week 4

Today we had a task to go a little more deeper into pollution, habitat destruction and Arne Næss`s ecosophy(?)(A mix between ecology and philosophy), and try to link them together.

The ecosophy is basically based on that every living organism do not deserve to be killed or not being pushed around.

If I understand pollution right then it is a technique Arne Næss may use to make persons more engaged to his themes and subjects by showing them the truth about our world and how much we could have done and can do to make it different. There are a few texts in Searching 10 which are very useful.

The links in these cases are obviously. Arne Næss does all he can manage to save earth habitat and recycle all items that may be used again, while the rainforest is being chopped down. As said in "Searching 10" 75 000 trees could have been spared if the Sunday edition of New York Times had been cancelled. The ecosophy says that "We need to stop and change course" which is very correct from where I see it. The destruction of a habitat is only one problem the other problem is that the animals in the reserves are killed. This is also mentioned in the ecosophy by saying that hunting for wild animals must be stopped. In the modern days you need to think a lot about what you do and if it is necessary or very important.

Another important subject is the ozone layer (who stops the dangerous UV rays to reach us) is being teared apart because of our CO² outcome. This is a seriously threat we need to handle now.
In these times the world need all the help it can get, and I think that Arne Næss is being a great role model and starting to change our course.
